1. MD, EVA

MD: A general term for MODEL or PHYLON flying dragon; PHYLON: commonly known as flying dragon, is a material for making soles. It is generally used in the midsole of shoes. It is a mixed material made of heated and compressed EVA foam (EVA secondary high-pressure molded product). It is characterized by light weight, good elasticity, and shock resistance, and the hardness is controlled by the foaming temperature.

EVA: Ethylene Vinyl Acetate-ethylene resin acetate fiber. A light and elastic chemical synthetic material, a large sole material, is often sold in conjunction with RB. The price depends on the amount of materials used. In addition, the combined labor fee and glue fee are about 20 yuan. It is also used in composite materials, called foaming, and the price can be ignored, but the factory will definitely add it to the cost calculation.
Therefore, MD soles must contain EVA, and MD soles are also called PHYLON soles. For example, MD=EVA+RB or EVA+RB+TPR, and some shoes are RB+PU, etc.

2. RB

RB: Rubber, that is, rubber. RB soles have good wear resistance, stable shrinkage, and good bending, but the material is heavy and is generally used for outsoles.

3. PU, PVC

PU: Polyurethane, a high-molecular polyurethane synthetic material, PU is leather material, there are many types, upper material. Sold by yard, some are expensive and some are cheap, basically not expensive, there is also PU sole, which is rarely used in foreign trade orders. PU is a high-density and durable material based on foam rubber, with high density, hardness, wear resistance, and good elasticity, but it has strong water absorption, is easy to break, and is easy to yellow. PU is often used in the midsole or rear midsole interlayer of basketball and tennis shoes, and can also be directly used in the outsole of casual shoes.

PVC: Polyvinylchloride, polyvinyl chloride, is a synthetic material widely used in the world today. PVC is also a leather material, a cheap product, but there are also high-end ones. Most of them are relatively cheap, oil-resistant, wear-resistant, and have good insulation properties, but poor anti-slip properties, not cold-resistant, not fold-resistant, and poor air permeability.

4. TPU, TPR, TR

TPU: Thermoplastic Polyurethane, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, is a linear polymer material. The advantage of TPU is good elasticity, but the material is heavy and the shock absorption capacity is poor. It is often used in the midsole of jogging, slow walking, and casual shoes.

TPR: Thermoplastic Rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, also known as thermoplastic rubber. TPR is different from RB, it is more fragrant, and the price is more than RB, which is about the same, with a difference of 5 cents. It has both the high strength and high resilience of rubber, and can be injection molded. It has multiple characteristics such as environmental protection and non-toxicity, a wide range of hardness, excellent colorability, soft touch, fatigue resistance, good temperature resistance, and excellent processing performance. It can be molded by secondary injection molding or molded alone, but its wear resistance is poor.

TR: A synthetic material of TPE and rubber, it has the characteristics of various appearances, good feel, bright color, high finish, high technical content, etc. It can also be 100% recycled and is an environmentally friendly sole material.
