April 27‑30, AsiaWorld‑Expo Hong Kong, Hall 7, Booth 7N33.
Four days – a rhythm familiar to a team used to travelling for overseas exhibitions, yet also refreshing. Familiar was the pace: setup, reception, negotiation, dismantle. Refreshing was that this time we stood on a domestic‑facing show stage, meeting a somewhat different buyer mix.

Our Footprint: Overseas focus, Hong Kong as a new chapter
In recent years our focus has been firmly on overseas markets. We've set up booths at Japan's Tokyo shoe fairs and US shoe shows in Las Vegas and Portland. We're used to discussing lasts and outsole patterns in English and Japanese, and sending tech packs across time zones. Domestic exhibitions, by comparison, we have attended much less often.
That's why choosing the Global Resources Sports & Outdoor Show was a meaningful addition – a chance to reach domestic and Asian buyers more directly, and to reaffirm our positioning: a custom shoe factory still centered on export and customization, yet willing to let more people see our capabilities in closer markets.
Our Booth: 7N33, four categories, one attitude
Located at Booth 7N33 in Hall 7, the booth had an open layout with clear product zones. We brought four mature product lines:
Casual shoes – Everyday wear, covering canvas, knit, PU and other uppers, combined with EVA, rubber, phylon outsoles. We especially highlighted the weight data of our lightweight casuals, which drew buyers who value wearing comfort.
Golf shoes – A true test of functional footwear. We displayed samples with customisable sole stiffness, spike patterns and waterproof uppers. Many sport‑brand buyers stopped specifically for these. Golf shoes demand high mould precision and quality control – exactly where our factory excels.
Dance shoes – Sincerity in a niche segment. Dance shoes need softness, wrap fit and support, with special requirements for outsole grip and upper stretch. Several professional dance‑wear buyers gave our samples high praise, saying our attention to detail rivals specialised factories.
Outdoor shoes – A hot category in light outdoor activities. Covering urban commuting, trail walking and more, the uppers use abrasion‑resistant mesh and water‑repellent treatment, while outsoles combine fatigue‑resistant EVA with local rubber reinforcement. This line received the most inquiries, echoing the continued rise of "light outdoor" lifestyles.

Old Clients and New Friends
At the show we met several existing clients we have worked with for years. They came specifically to Booth 7N33 – to see our newly developed sole moulds, and to discuss next season's colours and material trends. No lengthy negotiations, just trust and mutual understanding. They know we sample fast and are highly responsive, and we have never let that trust down.
Even more exciting were the new clients. From Scandinavian designer labels, to Southeast Asian traders, to Middle Eastern sourcing agents – over four days we received detailed inquiries about materials, MOQ, lead times and the customisation process. A buyer from the UK bent our outdoor shoe samples repeatedly before saying, "Your weight control is really impressive." That's the most direct recognition of our technical ability.

Unexpected Highlights: Interviews by the Organizer and CCTV
On the second day, the Global Sources organising team toured Hall 7 and stopped at Booth 7N33. They asked in detail about our product positioning, our overseas exhibition experience, and our customisation workflow. When they learned that we mainly exhibit in Japan and the US, and that we had brought golf shoes and dance shoes as differentiated categories, they acknowledged our niche‑focused strategy.
More unexpectedly, CCTV's camera came to our booth as well. The reporter asked why a factory with an overseas‑focused exhibition record would choose the Global Sources Sports & Outdoor Show. Our answer: because market needs are changing. Both domestic and international buyers increasingly look for flexible, fast, low‑MOQ customisation partners. We don't aim to be the biggest – we aim to be the most attentive to our clients' needs. The interview segment was only a few dozen seconds, but for the entire team it was a huge encouragement.

Market Observations: Lightweight, Sustainable, and Focused
Walking the show floor, several trends stood out clearly:
Lightweight is now a baseline for nearly all outdoor and sports footwear. Buyers repeatedly check the weight per shoe, some even bring their own scales.
Sustainable materials continue to rise in importance – recycled polyester uppers, water‑based adhesives, removable eco‑friendly insoles – these details were asked about frequently.
Specialisation is a clear trend. Buyers are less satisfied with factories that claim to "make everything". Instead they prefer suppliers with deep expertise in specific categories. Our four directions – casual, golf, dance, outdoor – fit this demand exactly.

Next Stop: Italy – See You at the Shoe Fair This June
As the curtain falls on the Hong Kong show, the countdown to the next exhibition has already begun.
This June we are heading to Italy for a major shoe fair. We will bring upgraded casual shoe series, new golf sole moulds, and dance/outdoor styles developed specifically for the European market. If you missed us at Booth 7N33 in Hong Kong, or if you would like to see our fuller line‑up in Italy, please get in touch to book an appointment.
We firmly believe that good shoes and good collaborations both benefit from face‑to‑face meetings. From Tokyo to Hong Kong, from the US to Italy – we're always on the road.
