Anti-static shoes are a type of work shoe worn in the production workshops and advanced laboratories of the microelectronics industry, such as electronic semiconductor devices, electronic computers, electronic communication equipment, and integrated circuits, to reduce or eliminate static electricity hazards.

Anti-static shoes can guide static electricity from the human body to the ground, thereby eliminating human static electricity, and effectively suppressing the dust generated by personnel walking in the clean room. Suitable for pharmaceutical factories, food factories, electronics factories, clean workshops, laboratories, etc. Anti-static shoes are made of PU or PVC material for the sole, and the sole is made of anti-static and anti-slip material, which can absorb sweat and odor, as well as achieve anti-slip, anti-static, and other functions. It is integrated with the upper and then reinforced online.
Anti-static shoes can effectively leak static electricity, but they must be used together with anti-static clothing (anti-static insoles, anti-static socks) and anti-static flooring to form a complete anti-static system, suitable for harsh work environments that are sensitive to static electricity

Precautions for using anti-static shoes
It must be used in conjunction with anti-static flooring (such as anti-static flooring or floor mats), otherwise the anti-static effect will be greatly reduced.
Avoid wearing insulated socks (such as wool socks, nylon socks, etc.), and it is recommended to wear anti-static socks or pure cotton socks to maintain good conductivity.
Regularly check the resistance value to ensure that the anti-static performance of the shoes is still effective, usually every 3-6 months.
Do not wear it on ordinary ground as it may reduce the effectiveness or even damage the function of anti-static shoes.
The Differences Between Anti-Static Shoes and Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes in Manufacturing Process
1. Differences in Material Selection
(1) Sole Material
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Made from common materials such as rubber, EVA, PU (polyurethane), and PVC (polyvinyl chloride), focusing on durability, slip resistance, and comfort.
These materials are mostly insulators and do not conduct electricity.
Anti-Static Shoes
The sole contains conductive particles or anti-static additives in materials like PU, PVC, or rubber, ensuring anti-static or conductive properties.
Sole resistance is controlled within 10⁶Ω to 10⁹Ω for anti-static shoes or below 10⁶Ω for conductive shoes, allowing static electricity to dissipate safely.
(2) Upper Material
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Made from leather, mesh, synthetic leather, etc., focusing on aesthetics, breathability, and comfort.
Anti-Static Shoes
Uses anti-static canvas, PU leather, or cowhide, with some materials containing conductive fibers to enhance anti-static performance.
(3) Insole and Lining
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Uses regular foam or cotton insoles without anti-static functionality.
Anti-Static Shoes
Uses anti-static insoles containing conductive fibers or anti-static coatings, ensuring overall anti-static performance.
2. Differences in Manufacturing Process
(1) Sole Molding
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Uses conventional injection molding, compression molding, cold bonding, or hot pressing, with soles that lack conductivity.
Anti-Static Shoes
The sole must be infused with conductive particles or anti-static agents during molding.
Sole resistance must be strictly controlled to meet anti-static standards.
(2) Bonding and Assembly
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Uses standard adhesives (such as PU glue or rubber glue) to bond the upper and sole.
Anti-Static Shoes
Uses anti-static adhesives to ensure the bonding process does not compromise conductivity.
Avoids insulating materials in the bonding process, ensuring a continuous conductive path.
(3) Testing and Quality Control
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Mainly tested for appearance, wear resistance, and bonding strength.
Anti-Static Shoes
Requires additional anti-static performance tests, including:
Sole resistance test: Ensures the sole meets the 10⁶Ω ~ 10⁹Ω anti-static requirement.
Overall anti-static test: Ensures the shoe effectively dissipates static electricity when worn.
Durability test: Checks that the anti-static properties remain effective over time.
3. Differences in Production Environment
Ordinary Cold-Bonded Shoes
Manufactured in a standard shoe factory without special environmental requirements.
Anti-Static Shoes
Produced in an anti-static controlled workshop to prevent external factors from affecting the anti-static materials.
Requires strict control of humidity, dust, and contamination to maintain anti-static effectiveness.
